Geography
Geography Of District Narayanpur

Narayanpur is situated in the southwestern part of Chhattisgarh, surrounded by dense forests, rolling hills, and streams that flow into the Indravati River. Positioned in the heart of the historically significant Dandakaranya region, which is referenced in ancient Indian epics, the district spans about 6,427 square kilometers. Narayanpur borders Kanker, Kondagaon, and Bastar districts and features a rugged terrain comprising hills, valleys, and plateaus adorned with Sal, Teak, and Bamboo forests.
The region is situated on the Deccan plateau and predominantly features lateritic soil, which is not very conducive to traditional farming. Nevertheless, the ample forest cover makes up for this limitation by providing abundant natural resources such as forest products and medicinal plants.
